'Look everyone!' Tom shouted, the way people do when they're frightened. 'A brick's fallen out of the wall!'

And behind the brick a mysterious scroll is waiting for Tom to find it.  On the scroll is an ancient riddle.  It talks of enemies and danger.  Tom's world is turned upside down as his amazement turns to fear.  What ancient forces for good or evil has he unleashed?  Is the glowing riddle a trick?  Can Tom trust himself, or anyone, with its secret message?

The third book in the madaboutsnailbook series, Snail Park, is out now!

A trip to the dentist turns into a nightmare for Amy, then someone sends her a mysterious letter in the playground warning of a protest against the Snail Park. Who has sent it and why?

Headteacher, Mrs. Snout is busy with the Snail Park design competition until she notices that her facelift has gone horribly wrong. As she slowly loses her mind it's left to Jack and Amy, with a little help from Bill Bracket, to sort out the mess.

But Old McSlithers is up to no good in his shelter down on the playing field and new girl Laura Crust suddenly begins to show too much interest in the snail. Who is her half-brother, Travis and why does he look so familiar? Then with the help of Year 5/6 teacher, Mrs. Twizzle, Amy uncovers something even more sinister than a village protest against the Park - a plot to steal the snail's shell.

Amy stumbles from one crisis to another but does she triumph in the end?'

Suitable for parents, grandparents and carers to read to children of five and over and for older children to read for themselves.

The second book in the madaboutsnailbooks.com series, Snails Don’t Burp, - following on from the successful launch of Snail Trail – is now being published.

Detectives-in-the-making, Amy and Charlie, set off on another adventure. It ends in near-disaster as their relationship breaks down.

An American Film Producer wants to make a movie of their amazing discovery on Zig-Zag Common, but the girls believe that Old McSlithers belongs to them. They refuse to sign the contract.

Instead, they decide to hide the snail - but just where do you hide a snail the size of a four storey-building?

What are the new people up to and what is the mysterious trail of glitter that has appeared from nowhere?

There are boys plotting, a school trip to a Monastery, a massive falling out between friends and double-crossing. Then, when things look like they can’t get any worse, Old McSlithers falls desperately ill.

Do the girls make up in time to save Old McSlithers? Does the snail have a future?

Is it an April Fool’s joke like the grown-ups think?

Nine-year old best friends and detectives-in-the-making Amy and Charlie decide to solve the mystery and single out Mr. Brown as the number one suspect – a man who never shaves and whose car is often heard chugging up the hill late at night.

But then snail posters are found nailed to trees, a schoolboy goes missing and the girls’ mums start to behave suspiciously.

A secret spilt in the playground sends the girls snail-hunting high up on Zig-Zag Common.  They follow the snail trail and make an amazing discovery.  It leads to more than they could have ever wished for.

Read the fascinating real-life story behind the story.

"If these events had never happened in the sequence they did, then Snail Trail and the follow-on books would never have been written. We’re mad about snails in this house. We’re mad about reading and writing and illustrating. We hope you catch a bit of that madness when you read the snail books, or listen to them being read!"

"Thank you for letting me be among the first to read this beautifully put together story. There’s nothing snail’s pace about this story. Many swift twists and turns are executed by our pint-sized Misses Marple as they solve a highly-unusual village mystery. Looming large all the while are the exotic Land Snails who inspired the tale, and are enduringly intriguing. Bring on the slithering sequel."
Debbie Thrower, Broadcaster, on Snail Trail.
